Maybe it just kinda 'opens,' yourself to another level, and letting those kind of things be seen. After all, most people just ignore it because they don't WANT to see.. but if they're reading that, then that sort of means they're LOOKING for it, huh?

But I too, have a friend that was reading it, he brought it to school and always kept it close. He told me one day, that he was attacked in house, alone. That, while he was sitting on his couch, something wrapped their arms around him and he freaked out and stuff. Since he had a knife, he said he stabbed at his arm, but it didn't hit him, because something else blocked it. "I mean like I was stabbing bone! A person!" He said. Tsk, tsk, tsk. But reading that.. should mean you accept those things exist, right?
