Sex Pistols?

What was the problem about in the 70`s with Richard Branson " Owner of Virgin Records" and the punk band The Sex pistols?

Best Answer...

Answer:

in 1974the Sex Pistols who were John Lydon better known as johnny Rotton-Steve Jones-Glen Matlock-AND Paul Cook. It all started in 1974 when the Sex Pistols had made a single called Anarchy In The U.K . E.M.I was going to release it , but before it got into any shops E.M.I decided to pay the Sex Pistols out and payed them 40 Thousand pounds . then they moved over to another lable called A.M .THE Sex PISTOLS made a record called .God Save The Queen . This record never got any airplay at all , Because Rotton was going to promote this record outside of Buckingham Palace. When the boss of A.M heard about this , he gave The SEX PISTOLS the sack and again they earned from this doing nothing 40,ooo. pounds so they turned to RICHARD BRANSONS LABEL CALLED VIRGIN RECORDS Branson thought that the Sex Pistols were going to make another song , but SID Vicious = took the place of matlock , In the line up of the Sex Pisols , and on the queens 25TH ANNAVERSAY OF THE Queens Coranation they released GOD SAVE THE QUEEN . BRANSTONcame under attack by the monalistict t.v and this record sold enoth to take it to the charts at number 2 . cook and rotton were assulted by the angry royalist and the the next two records they released were band from all music shops BRANSON ALSO GAVE THE SACK , AND PAYED THIS GROUP OUT WITH 100,OOO POUNDS , AND THE STORY GOES ON FROM THAT

Sex Pistols turn down Olympic invitation (punknews)

The Sex Pistols have turned down an invitation to play the closing ceremony of
the London 2012 Olympic Games, The Guardian reports.

Apparently, the band were asked to play as part of 'A Symphony of British
Music', which is aiming to represent every era of British music since the
Second World War. Naturally, the Pistols were sought to represent _'the punk
era'_, a shorthand frequently used by British music scribes to describe the
period between 1976 and 1978, the brief time frame in which punk music was
considered most prominent in the public imagination.

A spokesman for the Sex Pistols declined to comment further.
